About the Position:Â The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is currently seeking applications for the position of General Counsel. This role entails overseeing highly responsible administrative and professional legal duties, directing and coordinating the operations of the ageny's legal services. Responsibilities include supervising legal activities such as preparing cases for court and administrative proceedings, drafting contracts, legislation, administrative rules, and policies, and providing legal advice to the agency, Board, and ODMHSAS personnel.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: General Counsel I
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
10 years of experience as a practicing attorney
3 years as a managing attorney or equivalent
2 years as supervising attorney or equivalent
Must be an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.
Note: No substitution will be allowed for the three years as a managing attorney or equivalent and two years of experience as the supervising attorney or equivalent
General Counsel II
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
11 years of experience as a practicing attorney
4 years as a managing attorney or equivalent
2 years as supervising attorney or equivalent,
Must be an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.
Note: No substitution will be allowed for the four years as a managing attorney or equivalent and two years as the supervising attorney or equivalent
General Counsel III
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
12 years of experience as a practicing attorney
4 years as a managing attorney or equivalent
3 years as supervising attorney or equivalent
Must be an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.
Note: No substitution will be allowed for the four years as a managing attorney or equivalent and three years as the supervising attorney or equivalent.
