The General Counsel will provide legal leadership, ensuring the company’s rapid growth complies with applicable laws and regulations. They will take a pragmatic approach to solving legal challenges and managing risks hands-on, enabling the company to scale while minimising legal exposure. They will also serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team, offering guidance on key legal matters.

You will

1. Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks related to business operations. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks, including the creation of internal policies and employee training programmes.

2. Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and execution of all contracts and agreements, including client contracts, vendor agreements, partnerships, and employment contracts. Ensure these documents protect the company’s interests and comply with legal requirements.

3. Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes that arise with clients, vendors, employees, or regulatory bodies. This includes providing pre-litigation advice and, if necessary, overseeing litigation processes.

4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to all relevant laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific guidelines.

1. Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate legal risks and create strategies to mitigate them.

2. Risk Management: Expertise in balancing risk while supporting business growth.

3. Negotiation: Skilled in managing external parties to protect our interests.

4. Process Efficiency: Develop efficient legal processes and structures that scale with the company’s growth.

5. Adaptability and Learning: Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, with the ability to dive into diverse legal topics.

6. Corporate Law Expertise: In-depth knowledge of employment law (Germany), data protection (US, EU), corporate governance, and contract management (US, EU, Asia).

7. Industry Experience: Ideally, experience in mobile marketing, advertising, mobile gaming, or gambling in a US/EU context.
