Head of Legal

As a result of our rapid international growth and multiple secured funding rounds, we have grown our team from 30 to 80+ and are now looking for a dedicated and business-oriented Head of Legal to help us become the leaders in #teltech globally!

About the Role

As Telness Tech’s Head of Legal, you will be responsible for building, running, and ensuring quality on all of the company’s legal aspects, with a focus on business law, compliance, and security in a national and international context.

We are entering an era of fast international growth, having engaged several customers across the Nordics, USA, & Rest of Europe. You will work closely with leadership to manage and coordinate all legal with varying international business clients/partners and play a critical role in driving Telness Tech’s future growth journey. The successful candidate will be a hands-on problem solver who has been part of a similar scale-up journey, either as an “in-house lawyer” or working at a law firm with a Swedish SaaS/Tech company.

You will be part of the extended leadership team, reporting to the CFO.

Further on, the role will include but not be limited to:

• Manage all business contracts and corporate laws with a specific focus on client/partner contracts with MVNOs and network operators nationally and globally


• Advise and act on legal and compliance risks and ensure quality in legal issues to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and our strategic goals


• Work with different legal issues within GDPR, information security, and corporate law


• Responsible for coordinating projects and complementary legal support from local specialists if needed


• Keep up to date with and informed about applicable laws, regulations, and legal development, both nationally and internationally


• Produce internal legal policies, directives, guidelines, etc


• Work on the legal side with financing processes and investments

What We Look For

• At least 5+ years experience in business- and corporate law, as an ”in-house”-lawyer or with international Swedish Tech clients at a law firm, after a law degree


• Solid experience working with SaaS business models and international enterprise partners/customers, (focus on IT and Telco operators is meritorious)


• Experience working with legal in an international business context with different countries/markets, preferably the US


• Previous experience working in a startup/scale-up is beneficial


• Thorough experience with Swedish legislation (US legislation is a plus)


• Previous experience in IT security requirements/GDPR is meritorious


• Ability to proactively identify relevant issues and possibilities, assess risks, and produce constructive solutions in new customer/partner situations internationally


• Experience and interest in mixed corporate governance issues as we will encounter many different types of operational challenges on our international growth journey


• Previous experience within transactional law (M&A, investments) is an advantage.


• Education: Degree of Master of Laws


• Excellent communication skills and fluent English in speech and writing (Swedish is a strong merit)
