Head of Legal

Our client is a leading multinational in the consumer space looking to hire the Head of Legal for the MEA region with additional responsibility to centrally lead the legal agenda for other hubs as well like Americas, Europe, CIS countries. The role will be based in Dubai, UAE.

 Assisting in international commercial and legal matters.

 Liaison with external advise providers, i.e. Solicitors, Advocates, Consultants, Attorneys, etc.

 Liaison with Internal Upcountry teams based in USA, Egypt, Nigeria, Turkey, IRAN, Pakistan for advisory role.

 Attending IPR related matters & addressing the same accordingly by tacking appropriate action.

 Participating in due diligence for new acquisitions, to conduct raids & take suitable legal action against party who manufactures superiors products.

 Vetting of agreements/documents relating to business.

 Drafting of Agenda for Board Meetings / Annual General Meetings maintaining the Minutes thereof.

 Liaison with Overseas representatives / Managers with respect to legal matters.

 Maintaining the legal document management system, i.e. case records, agreements, product registrations, etc.

 Background research on countries in which the company intend to operate & set up its base.

 Planning / organizing / monitoring legal expenditure, budget, etc.

 Liaison with Statutory Authorities ensuring legal compliance off the business internationally namely Customs / Economic and Commercial Government Departments, etc.

12 - 18 years of Industry Experience.

(Around 7-8 years needs to be from FMCG Backgrounds.)

Minimum Qualification: LLB

Additional Qualification: Diploma or Degree in International Intellectual property laws & clause.

Must be based in the UAE and well-versed with the local and regional law.

Must have experience in commercial laws as well as litigation.
