Your day to day



  • Be the lead role in the legal strategic insight and advice for Global Loyalty and Global Insights and Analytics Global and Regional Commercial Functions (including distribution and sales strategy and support) and lead the enablement of the business priorities for those areas. 

  • Deliver commercial solutions through complex problem solving with exceptional business judgment, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice by balancing business needs with legal risks. Including but not limited to leading legal guidance on hotel pricing strategies, system fund governance to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and loyalty initiatives including promotions, program changes and developments.

  • Practice preventative law: advise leaders on compliance related issues and coordinate with regions regarding advice and issues as they impact the regions; collaborate among BRR (Business Reputation and Responsibility) to provide and/or coordinate advice, including risk, privacy, information governance and regional operations.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with governmental/regulatory standards; partner with business areas to resolve guest, member, hotel, and vendor disputes.

  • Lead negotiations, contracts, partnership, and SaaS agreements to ensure optimal revenue for IHG hotels (including through revenue management platforms and services)

  • Take a lead role in a variety of day-to-day matters faced by in-house legal group related to large, dynamic global business, including supporting new business development initiatives, drafting, reviewing and supporting agreements, brand standards and communications between IHG and hotels relating to revenue management, loyalty, and other relevant topics.

  • Manage outside counsel in connection with relevant matters.

  • Lead self and deliver through the team in delivery focused project management.

  • Lead a legal team; motivate, engage, coach and inspire performance to build a team with skills for today and the future.  


What we need from you



  • A Bachelor's Degree and a Juris Doctor Degree. Member of a State Bar in good standing (subject to confirmation with Georgia Bar that Georgia Bar membership is not a prerequisite). 

  • 10+ years of legal experience. Strong breadth of legal knowledge and in-depth subject matter expertise in above referenced areas.

  • Strong analytical, risk identification and problem-resolution skills; exceptional business judgment, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice by balancing business needs with legal risks.

  • High degree of independence, initiative, decisiveness, and creative thinking as well as desire to dive deep and be challenged.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of presenting and discussing legal information and ability to simplify complex issues.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to establish rapport, influence and gain understanding of others.

  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to work with others and manage and deliver multiple time sensitive matters in a demanding, fast-paced and matrixed environment.

  • Ability to be proactive in new situations, and to manage projects and third parties, including outside counsel.

  • Demonstrated experience in inspiring leadership, ability to coach and develop talent and role modelling expected behaviours.

  • Continuous learning mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment


The salary range for this role is $223,696 to $280,000. This role is also eligible for bonus pay. In addition we offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k, and any other benefits to eligible employees.
