Job Description






We are seeking a dynamic Associate General Counsel to provide comprehensive legal counsel on our diverse range of products and services, focusing particularly on privacy, data protection, regulatory compliance, and general product counseling for innovative technology offerings. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this role involves collaborating with key stakeholders to identify legal requirements, manage external legal relationships, and offer strategic guidance across the organization. Working closely with the Chief Privacy Officer, you will address privacy matters related to our products and ensure global compliance with various legal requirements.

This is a remote position with occasional travel to Warminster, PA or Mt. Laurel, NJ.









Responsibilities






  • Oversee and manage compliance and risk management activities from a legal and business perspective.
  • Advise and counsel various departments on diverse legal matters, leveraging deep knowledge of consumer reporting, privacy laws, and data protection regulations.
  • Work closely with product development and engineering teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with software products, uses of automation and AI/ML, and other cutting-edge technology solutions.
  • Monitor legal developments and update stakeholders on pertinent changes to ensure ongoing standards meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Research and address legal inquiries, drafting responses and alerts as needed.
  • Review and manage requests from consumers regarding data processing, deletion, and access rights.
  • Oversee and manage global privacy compliance program, ensuring practices remain in compliance with evolving global legal requirements and enforcement agency guidance.
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams on data retention processes and solutions.








Required Skills






  • Exceptional time management and organizational abilities.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with proficiency in MS Office 365Ā®.
  • Proven experience in providing business-oriented legal advice, emphasizing compliance and risk management while balancing business objectives.
  • Proven transactional experience drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements, including services, licensing, and vendor agreements.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including conflict resolution and mediation abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Capacity for sound judgement and decision-making to support business objectives.
  • Occasional travel between Vertical Screen offices in Warminster, PA and Mt. Laurel, NJ.








Education






  • Juris doctor and license to practice law from one state bar or its equivalent.
  • Selected candidate will be required to apply for and receive a PA/NJ limited in-house counsel practice license within six months of start date.
  • Three or more years of relevant legal experience.
  • Completion of internal certification process.
  • Prefer Licenses to practice law in PA and/or NJ. Limited In-House Corporate License acceptable, accordingly.
  • CIPP Certification preferred, but not required.
